What remains human?
A question worth holding as technology advances.
A tool can help produce an answer. Someone still has to decide which question matters, whose experience is missing and what the answer will be used for. As technology changes the work people do, those choices deserve more of our attention.
I keep returning to a question: if machines do more of the doing, what meaning do people bring? There are practical decisions inside that question. What is worth creating? What should be protected? Which relationships help us recognise consequences we might otherwise miss?
Analysis has a place in answering these questions. So do listening, observation, imagination and experience. A spreadsheet can describe aspects of a shared space. Being present in it can reveal something else: who feels comfortable speaking, what people care for and what remains unspoken.
The point is to give our tools a purpose grounded in human judgment and relationship. Faster production does not decide what deserves to be produced. More information does not remove the need to pay attention.
One useful practice is to notice what your current measures leave out. In a project conversation, ask what people are experiencing that does not appear in the report. Invite an observation from someone whose role usually keeps them outside the decision. Treat what you hear as something to explore and examine.
Imadreneering is one current Pure Project exploring related questions through a particular format: small cohorts gathering for six days of ceremony, collective sensing, making and integration. Plant medicine ceremonies are central to the programme, and participation involves a personal conversation and screening for experience and health.
The first programmes are planned for summer 2027 across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Locations and dates are still to be confirmed. The invitation is for people who lead, found, make, teach or organise and want to explore what may be emerging alongside others.
This is an inquiry with open outcomes. The intention is to capture what arises, examine patterns together and explore how it might take form in work and life. You can read the programme details and register interest on the Imadreneering website.
