Important work needs capacity

From a worthwhile intention to something that moves.

An important idea can be clear and still go nowhere. Research remains unfinished. A decision sits between two people. Someone needs to find a specialist. Outreach waits until there is time. The founder becomes the place where every loose end lands.

Each task may look small on its own. Together, they create a coordination burden that is difficult to see from the outside. The person carrying the vision also has to remember the dependencies, explain the context and check whether anything happened.

Adding help can be useful. It also creates work: briefing, reviewing, connecting one contribution to the next. When nobody owns that connecting work, the original bottleneck can remain.

The first useful conversation is about the situation. What needs to happen? Why does it matter? What would meaningful progress look like over the next few weeks? Those answers provide a brief that people can work from.

Then distinguish the parts. Some work requires your judgment or relationships. Some requires specialist skill. Some needs production. Some needs a person to coordinate the sequence and follow through. The same person does not have to carry all of it.

A practical starting point is one bounded objective. Make the desired result explicit. Identify the decisions that remain yours, the capabilities needed and the person responsible for keeping the work connected. Agree how progress will be communicated so that asking for updates does not become another job.

That is the thinking behind MR. FIX: intelligent execution around important work. Depending on the brief, that can involve research, content, systems, outreach or project coordination. Personal advisory helps clarify the direction; execution support helps give it practical form.

If you have something you want to move forward, begin with three things: what you want to bring to life, what is making it difficult and what progress would mean to you. A useful conversation can start there.
